Should College Education Be Free
General News | Mar-11-2021
Every citizen of this country has the right to education. But some
people are not able to afford that right even if they have the skills
and dedication to doing so. Some students can complete their schooling but are unable to get into suitable colleges because of the high fees. For such students, and many others with endless problems, college education should be free. Not only will this enable the students to achieve their dream life, but they can also develop a better society for future generations.
If colleges reduce their costs or make the admission fee, then most people who pull back from college because of financial matters would be able to study without any burden. The literacy rate would increase and it would help in bringing new ideas for the community and a better society.
Almost every company nowadays requires degrees from college for giving jobs. Even if a person is motivated to work hard or has the ability, they still wouldn’t be able to get the job because they won’t have the degree. If college fees are removed, anybody would be able to get the opportunity to find a suitable job to take care of their families.
College fees are a burden on many parents who want their children to get the best education but are unable to pay for the same. If college education becomes free of cost, then many such parents would be able to see their children achieve without being under any burden.
Student loans can take up the entire life of the students managing to pay them. They have constant stress in their minds to pay off their loans. When a student can receive free education, they would be free to move on to better things in life without having to worry about paying their debts. This might also result in a boosted economy, as students would be able to earn and spend that money, which would create more consumer demand.
Free education would promote equality in society as each and everyone is entitled to an education. Financial troubles can create an issue with a child’s education, but with free education, children from every income group can receive an education. Free education can build better citizens in a country with proper knowledge and understanding of things.
