Despite these diversities, we all celebrate festivals with full joy and happiness. The most celebrated festival of India is the festival of lights and joy “Diwali.”

The festival of lights; Diwali is the heartbeat of India. Diwali is called the festival of light because on this day we all decorate our home with lights and we also light the candle and Diya to spread light everywhere. Diwali is also known as Deepavali. Diwali is celebrated in the account of Lord Rama, his wife Goddess Sita, and his younger brother Lord Laxman returning to their kingdom after defeating Ravana in Lanka and serving 14 years of exile. This festival is usually lasting for five days and it is celebrated during the month of Lunisolar Kartika between mid-October and mid of November. Diwali is one of the most popular festivals in India and Diwali symbolizes the “victory of light over darkness” or “good over evil.” During Diwali, the people clean their homes and also renovate their homes. In this festival of light, the people wear their finest clothes. The festival begins with worshiping Goddess Lakshmi, “The Goddess of Prosperity” and Lord Ganesha. After the prayer, the people present their gifts to their relatives and Neighbours. The children start burning their crackers and fireworks and the ladies make rangoli and decorate the home beautifully.

All of us congratulate everyone and present them with some sweets. We all pray and hope that this year brings a lot of prosperity to all of us.
