Ways To Increase Productivity Level

You may think you're pretty good at gauging how much time you're spending on various tasks. However, some research suggests only around 17 percent of people can accurately estimate the passage of time. A tool like Rescue Time can help by letting you know exactly how much time you spend on daily tasks, including social media, email, word processing, and apps. If you find that you do your best work first thing in the morning, but you’re pretty useless after lunch, then power through those first few hours and do the bulk of your work, then. You can then leave less labor-intensive tasks and admin jobs for your least productive times.

Estimate the time you need to tackle different tasks and set a timer for each of your tasks. How you go about this is up to you as there are many different ways. There is the Pomodoro technique where you focus on a task for 20 minutes followed by a five-minute break afterward. There are lots of ways you can reward yourself and you’ll know the best way. Whatever you do make sure you do it regularly after you achieve your goals and you’ll find that the next time a deadline comes up you’ll be looking forward to the reward at the end of it.

All too often, I see blogs that claim you need to tackle your biggest task first thing in the morning. While this is great advice for morning people, some of us need that morning time to let the coffee kick in and adjust to our day. So stop trying to do everything at once. Instead, dramatically increase productivity by giving your full attention to one task at a time. When your eyes and hands start drifting toward something else, think about how important it is to keep all your little gray cells.

Creating a to-do list at night also helps in prioritizing the tasks at hand. It is advisable to pick the most important task from the list followed by subsequent tasks. This helps to comprehend the chances of finishing those activities in the time allocated and in giving you a head start on your day in the morning.
