Government Steps Forward to Help IIT and MBBS Aspirants

In the present world each student aspires to be an IITian or an MBBS, but not even ¼ th of these students are able to turn their dreams into reality. This is precisely because the JEE and the NEET exam are considered to be the toughest entrance exams and require regular preparation and practice.

These days numerous coaching institutions have opened up that offer coaching to crack JEE and NEET exam. These coaching institutions are out of the reach of the aspirants belonging to the poor and the middle class families due to their high fee structure. To resolve this issue, the government has taken a step forward. The National Testing Agency (NTA) that conducts these exams has decided to convert its 2,697 test practice centres into teaching centres from the coming year. As per the word of the HRD Ministry, these practice Centres will start functioning from September 8. These centres will not charge any fees from the students. The aim behind this step is to provide access to JEE and NEET coaching to all those aspirants who suffer with financial constraints. This shall impose pressure on the private coaching centres and resultantly they shall also concentrate more on imparting quality education rather than just money making. The teaching component of the plan is estimated to begin from May 2019. At first the candidates shall register themselves for the JEE exam 2019. In case if one registers with the Testing Agency through the app or the website, he/ she shall also be provided access to the mock tests for the National Eligibility cum-Entrance Test-UG and the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET). The aspirants shall then be able to improvise on the areas in which they are weak. The candidates shall be required to register themselves for the tests to be conducted at the test practice centres through app or website. The registered candidates shall take up the tests and once the results are declared the students shall receive appropriate guidance from the teachers. However, this teaching component at the centres will be rolled out only after the first set of exams. The dates for these exams have been recently announced by NTA. The NTA has planned to open up the application and the website for registration on September 1, 2018. The app shall be extremely helpful for the students to identify the testing centre which is closest to them with respect to its location.
