Researchers have found out something that can amaze you. As per a recent research, structure organizes human activities and help us understand the world with less effort, but it can be the killer of creativity. This research was done at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.
As per the reports, most of the management research has supported the idea that giving structure to information makes it easier to handle its complexity and boosts efficiency but the other thought differently. The researchers conducted a study where participants were asked to work with items that were not ordered in any special way.
The research found that the participants displayed less creativity and cognitive flexibility during the task. Those in the prearranged information group also spent less time on their given work, suggesting reduced persistence, a key ingredient for creativity. The research was conducted by Chen-Bo Zhong and co-authored by warns Yeun Joon Kim.
