Policemen Turn Teachers In The Evening Schools In Bihar
Editorials News | Nov-28-2016
Policemen in Purnia, Bihar, teach at the “Sham Ki Pathshala” (evening schools) after their duty hours. They have been setting a novel example by imparting basic education to the kids and adults at the remote villages in this region. Nishant Tiwari, Superintendent of Police; Upendra Sinha, DIG; and other policemen are doing this great work in the evening schools in Baisi, Harda and other villages. Mr Tiwari said, "Whenever I get time I attend evening schools in different villages to educate children and unlettered adults."
They aim to bring the illiterate people of these villages into the mainstream. Many adults here have started avoiding liquor and devoting time to attend these schools. Some of them are even contributing in teaching at these schools. These policemen are happy that they are having such a positive impact on the society. Policemen with interest in teaching are giving this elementary education at free of cost. They also provide the children who attend these “Sham Ki Pathshala” with stationary items like books, sports items, pencils and copies. The children are motivated to attend the “Sham Ki Pathshala”. Hats off to these men in Khaki!
