Schools Unwilling to Sign for Students' Safety

The district administrative is seeking an affidavit from school's management to take responsibility for students' safety inside the school. This has made the administrators of the school quite uncomfortable. While the orders have reached to the top management of the school, most of them are not at ease to sign such an affidavit. District Magistrate BN Singh conducted 2 meetings with 125 private schools of Gautam Budh Nagar and directed them to submit the affidavit on a Rs.100/- stamp paper that has signs of all board of members/directors and principals.

If the schools don't submit the mandatory legal document in the due date assigned and ensuing inspections reveal that the schools are not abiding by the guidelines, their names will be put on the website with text "these schools are unsafe for the children". The only school that has sent the affidavit till now is the Dharam Public School, Noida. However, their document was rejected due to improper format. Others have agreed that they will have to get the document signed even though majority of them are not happy.

"We too have decided to sign it. The things that administration has asked us to comply with, will have to be done", said Father Bento Rodrigues of Father Agnel School located in Greater Noida.
