Computers play a very and most important role in science and technology. We know that problem-solving is considered to be the most important aspect of computers in the field of science and technology. It is through computers the students are used to solve problems in a variety of business, scientific, and social contexts as they tend to study the design, development, and analysis of hardware and software. Because computers solve problems to serve people, there is a significant human side to the aspects of computers in the field of science and technology.

Scientist also uses computers so that they can run simulations and build electronic models.

Supercomputers are highly used in science and technology as it is a computers that led the world in terms of processing capacity, particularly speed of calculation, at the time of their introduction. Supercomputers are mainly used for highly calculation-intensive tasks such as problems involving quantum mechanical physics, weather forecasting climate research which includes research into global warming, molecular modeling which includes computing the structures and properties of chemical compounds, biological macromolecules, polymers, and crystals, physical stimulations which include simulations of airplanes in wind tunnels, simulation of the detonation of nuclear weapons and research into nuclear fusion, cryptanalysis. It is a fact that major universities, military agencies, and scientific research laboratories are heavy users of supercomputers.

The significance of computer in the field of science and technology has a vast scope and apart from this it also plays a vital role as it is used in education such as word processors, spreadsheets, languages in programming, and electronic network systems. It is considered to be an integrated learning system that presents exercises for students to work on an individual basis that keep records of the student progress for reporting to the teachers of the school. It is used as simulations and games that engage students in computer-based activities designed to be motivating and educational.

Thus, the advent of computers played a very significant role as it has contributed greatly to the field of science and technology, as it has allowed for the collection and recording of vast amounts of data. It does allow scientists to store information indefinitely and review it easily. In the field of science and technology, the computer is widely used to solve problems as it write software to make computers do new things or accomplish tasks more effectively and efficiently also it creates applications for mobile devices, helps to develop websites, and program software.
