GB Judo Squad Includes Northern Ireland's James Reid

Judo is one of the enchanting Olympic sports of recent times. It is an art form that is fascinating and is now practiced in almost everywhere around the globe. In Britain there is the British Judo Association (BJA) which is the National Governing Body of Judo in Great Britain for the Olympic Sports. The BJA is a member of The International Judo Federation which represents Great Britain in the international tournaments. Other international associations are The European Judo Union, The Judo Confederation of the European Union, The British Olympic Association, The Central Council of Physical Recreation, Commonwealth Judo Association, and the Commonwealth Games Council.

The BJA is known to be a member organization which has gained its network of clubs, qualified coaches and some individual members within some time altogether providing an access to the sport in countries like Northern Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales. Meanwhile in latest news, James Reid who is a popular Northern Ireland’s Judo player has been asked to join the senior Great Britain judo squad soon after grabbing a silver medal at the British Championship matches. James Compete in the squad of less than 90kg weight, where he was in a match at Sheffield's English Sports Institute, that Reid needed to win at least five matches to play the final. Lastly he couldn’t make it as he lost to Frazer Chamberlin by a minimum margin therefore ending up with a silver medal. Reid, trains himself with the Simply Judo club in Belfast, now has the bears a good opportunity to markup at higher levels. Northern Ireland Judo Federation's lead coach was asked about the progress of James Reid, so he reacted as, “This is further a result that marks his progression towards his ultimate goal of a Commonwealth Games medal in Birmingham 2022”. Earlier this year James and his other friend sportsmen took part in one of the World’s toughest known training camps in Japan for two long weeks to prepare themselves for the most popular event of judo herein called British Championships. James had a target of this event for the year 2018 and he performed to his level best to count his attendance at the medal stats which was so quick right from the Junior (U21) where he won a silver medal two years ago and now had an opportunity to join the Senior GB Men’s Team.
