Fasting is the wilful refrainment from eating. There is no set time for fasting but doctors generally recommend 24 hours to 3 days.
Fasting in Hindu Culture:
As in several religions, fasting is additionally practiced in Hinduism. The time period of fasting generally depends on the individual, family, or the community. It may last for a day or a larger period of time. In the Hindu religion, fasting isn't an obligation, however an ethical and religious act wherever the aim is to purify the body and mind and acquire divine grace.
