Life Is Not A Race
General News | Jan-02-2024
Often we are told by people around us that we need to catch up with the pace of life else we will lag among our peers. Sometimes we too as an individual wants things to happen according to a plan or on time it was supposed to happen. But who sets those standards and tells you that this is the time it has to be done and if you don’t follow the same you will lose or get left behind?
Life comes at us fast and is always looked upon as a race which in reality is not. You could be as slow as you want and still be on the right path. As it is rightly said by Evelyn,” It probably doesn’t matter how slow you go, as long as you don’t stop.”
People have set a certain age boundary for almost everything, from getting a pass out of school to getting a decent-paying job everything has a timeline and needs to be followed and when one fails to do so they think they are losing out on a big thing. But there’s no such thing as a timeline for Life. You could be 25 and still be graduating from college, you could be in your teens and making a fortune of money with your job you could be 35 and still be learning basics.
Life has no formula etched to it, what works for others might not work for you and what works for you might not do the same for others. The perfect example of this is Mark Zuckerberg who dropped out of school and started working on his plans as a young teen today he holds a multi-faceted company called Facebook and is taking over its other business rivalries as well, WhatsApp and Instagram to illustrate. Unlike others, he didn’t follow a timeline or he didn’t go according to what he might have planned but still, he is successful and doing well in his field.
Most of the time we keep running by comparing our lives to that of others and sometimes we get so drained of running that we fail to recognize what was our ulterior motive behind running for that particular thing. It is rightly said that if we can’t cater to ourselves self how we will be able to cater to others? It is your life and you solely are in command of it. Even Amir Khan in his movie “Three Idiots” gave a message that you should not chase the success of others; go with your own pace and even if you lag behind you will still have something on your plate.
Life is not about running or chasing but doing what you love and doing it at a pace you like because after 3 years or 4 years, you'll still be of age you were supposed to be so why not age by doing what we love?
