Positive Parenting: A Doorway to a Child’s Heart

A child's first school is his/her home and teachers are his/her parents. It is obvious that whatever the child learns in his/her early ages and also during his/her childhood depends on the environment of the home and the behavior of his/her parents. According to Freud, childhood experiences have a great impact on your life. So this period of life should be taken care of properly.

Many of us heard or know that strict parenting leads to aggression in the child and also he/she learns to lie or hide things a lot from others. If we take another side too, lenient parenting is also not good, the child may feel so free that he/she starts ignoring what is right or wrong for him/her.

So which one is good parenting? Parents should understand the need for freedom that their children want and also the security that is required. There should be a balance between being strict and lenient. Help them in correcting their mistakes but do not pressurize them so much that instead of correcting it, they make it even worse!

And also create that environment in the home where the child feels comfortable in sharing his/her thoughts and problems with parents and does not get scared of being judged or scolded by them. You being the parents should develop a trust bond with your children, make them feel secure and loved even when they do something wrong. Instead of scolding them or giving punishment, listen to them and then in a calm manner make them understand what is right and wrong. This is positive parenting!!!
