Jose Mourinho Talks about the Rift in Man United Squad

Jose Mourinho hit back on lies that there is a rift in the Manchester United squad because they were not able to sign a central defender on Deadline Day. United made an unsuccessful bid when they decided to sign Diego Godin from Atletico Madrid. This happened when other moves to sign Toby Alderweireld, Jerome Boateng, Yerry Mina and Harry Maguire failed to materialise. Mourinho tried but wasn't able to hide dissatisfaction with lack of transfer at the club when he was speaking at a pre-match press conference. He did say that he has a strong feeling for his team to be ahead of the new season.

When asked if he would be able to compete without the new signings and he possessed the necessary tools, Mourinho responded, "I have my players, I like my players and I like to work with my players". He added that it's a lie that I don't have a healthy relationship with my players and any lie repeated 1000 times is still a lie. He said that he doesn't need any words to prove the worth of his players or himself and by the end of November or December, when the Premier League results will be out, it would be clear without any words.

Sky in Italy also reported that United rejected an offer of 45 million Euros along with Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina for Paul Pogba from FC Barcelona. Pogba also hasn't had any wage demands and is fully committed to the club.
