All Schools, Colleges in UP Closed Till March 22 due to Coronavirus outbreak

In Uttar Pradesh, all schools and colleges will remain shut till March 22 as ordered by Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of U.P. as the number of COVID-19 cases in UP touched 11, therefore the precautionary measure was taken.
As of 14 March, 96 people have tested positive for COVID-19 (the disease caused by novel coronavirus). Out of 11, 3 of them are cured and discharged from the hospital. India has also reported two coronavirus-related deaths so far. In Karnataka, a 76-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman in Delhi lost their lives to the deadly virus.
Yogi Adityanath said all technical and vocational education institutes, schools, colleges in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed till March 22. They will review the situation on March 22 and will make a decision whether to extend it or not.
Further addressing the press conference, he said that the situation is under control in U.P. and there is no need for people to be panic. Keeping in mind the importance of awareness and caution, he said that the state government is reaching out to people through awareness drives at school and community level.
He also said that the situation in Uttar Pradesh is under control. Though they have not declared coronavirus outbreak to be an epidemic yet, certain special powers under the Epidemic Act have been given to local authorities to manage the situation.
Furthermore, he gave details of 11 people who are tested positive for COVID-19 in-state so far. From Agra there are 7 of them, from Ghaziabad there are 2, from Lucknow and Noida there are 1. Out of 11, there are 10 who are being treated at Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital.
The movement of people along the Indo-Nepal border and through screening was being conducted was closely monitored by the team of doctors.
He said, in the state, with the facility to test samples for COVID-19, the government is trying to fit out five hospitals.
To overcome the coronavirus outbreak, we need to pay attention to prevention and spread awareness.
Apart from UP, in Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Bihar has closed all the schools, colleges till 31st March.
