Wrestlers are said to be the most weight conscious people on earth. It is so because every ounce of extra weight can keep them away from participating in a match. It is extremely important for wrestlers to lose weight without deteriorating their health. The intake of all essential nutrients is immensely important for wrestlers, to make sure that they have enough energy to wrestle. Some of the good foods that are helpful for wrestlers are as follows:
1. Skimmed Milk
Skimmed milk is made when all the cream is removed from whole milk. It contains vitamins and minerals, like calcium and vitamin. It is free from calories that usually milk contains. It is way better than other kinds of milk and largely helps in cutting down weight.
2. Lean Protein
Protein is extremely essential for one’s daily diet. It provides fuel to the body. Lean protein is a kind of protein that contains less than 10 grams of total fat per 3.5 ounce portion and is highly recommended for wrestlers. Some of the beneficial lean proteins include: chicken breast, fish, eggs, flank steak etc.
3. High Fiber Foods
High fiber foods create a feeling of fullness in the body. It keeps the dietary system regular and helps in avoiding weight gain. Some of the high fiber foods include: fruits especially raspberries, vegetables like peas and broccoli etc.
4. Water
It is important for wrestlers to keep their body hydrated. Large intake of water suppresses appetite and makes the body function effectively.
