Cardiff Protestors turn to City Hall

A protest was undertaken by the people in Cardiff pertaining to climate change. It involved the blocking of roads etc. Lately, this protest has come to an end on July 22, 2019. The protesters decided to move their boar towards City Hall from Castle Street, consequently the road was opened. They cleaned the entire site before departing. The group was highly apologetic because their protest led to a lot of inconvenience for about three days to everyone. On the contrary, they stated that the protest caused huge public awareness among the masses. Presently not many people are in agreement with the protestors. The protestors stated that saving the climate is hugely important. The change that is taking place in the environment along with current catastrophic loss of wildlife is indeed a huge threat to the civilization which needs immediate addressal. The protestors stated that they have faced various kinds of threats at the protest sites also. There are large number of people who are against these protests being organized by a few. On the other hand, there are some other who are against these different reasons. As the disruption due to the protest was increasing with time, it was better to change the location in a dignified manner. The police played a very important and crucial role in maintaining law and order. Indeed, maintaining the right balance between law and order on one hand and “right to peaceful protest on the other”, is extremely crucial. It was made sure that the disruption least affects the lives of the ordinary people of the area. Some of the local people gave very angry reactions as feedbacks whereas some others stated that climate change is an important issue and it needs to be highlighted. Labour AM Mick Antoniw has had a meeting with the protesters outside City Hall. He stated that we have declared a climate emergency in the assembly and it is important to bring it to action now. These people are doing their job indeed. He further added that he is 65 years of age and it is his generation that is responsible for the damage caused to the climate so far and indeed the present generation has got rights to complain and protest. This change in the climate is a huge threat to the future generations. He has promised to speak with first minister, Mark Drakeford about the issues that have been highlighted to him.
