CBSE Exams Class X, XII: Board To Introduce New Standards For The 2020 Session
Editorials News | Apr-23-2019
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has always been sensitive to the needs of students with disabilities. The Board, through an official notification, has stated that it is extending several exemptions / concessions to candidates with reference disabilities (for the X and XII class examinations conducted by the CBSE) as defined in the Law on the Rights of People with Disabilities – 2016.
The Board has observed that neither schools nor students are aware of these exemptions and are not following the correct way to look for exemptions available during their course of studies and exams.
The Board decided to update and compile all exemptions / concessions so that interested parties are aware of the same.
The changes made will replace all previous Circulars. These exemptions / concessions will be applicable for the examination from 2020 onwards, according to the notice issued by the Examination Comptroller.
In our country there is a great brainstorm about the need to change our education system. Policymakers and large companies are pushing the shift from the memory learning system to meaningful learning.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to take a step in this direction. It plans to improve the quality of education in its schools by focusing on a student's analytical skills rather than memory learning.
According to reports, the board decided to renew the exam pattern for classes 10 and 12 of the year 2020. A proposal has been submitted to the Ministry of Human Resources Development with plans to implement the changes of the next academic session.
A father from Chennai is satisfied with the change in the system. She says: "It's a good initiative and a welcome move by the board. Learning by heart will slowly disappear. " However, she has some reservations about the sudden introduction of these changes. "The change has to happen systematically. They should introduce it when the children are in Class VIII. There is no clarity as to when this exercise will begin. Children should be able to adapt to that, "she says, looking worried.
On the other hand, Sharmee, a Class XII student, says: "This is a good move. It will help us prepare for JEE. Normally, the preparation and the document of questions for the examination of the board and the JEE are different. For JEE, students need more analytical skills, which are perfected with practice and continuous assessments. As a student, I am always running out of time preparing for two different patterns. If both the CBSE and JEE board test our analytical skills, it will be easier to practice and save time. "
