CHAMPIONS ARE MADE.....

Time has flown by so fast. 22nd Ramjas Basketball Champions League 2016 started on 3rd August, 2016 and in a blink of an eye the finals have arrived. The last day of RBCL was a splendid one. The air was filled with curiosity as the finals were scheduled for this day. The first final was between Modern School, Barakhamba Road and Montfort School, Ashok Vihar in the Senior Girls’ Category. The girls on both sides were playing diligently. Modern School, Barakhamba Road won the match by 19 points.
Mr.Rajesh, Coach, Modern School, Barakhamba Road said, “We are used to winning. We participate regularly in this Tournament and I am really happy that we have won the Finals.”
The second match was between G.D.Goenka, Vasant Kunj and Montfort School, Ashok Vihar in the Junior Boys’ Category. The boys were in high spirits and were playing brilliantly. The teams gave each other a close chase, scoring constantly. Montfort School, Ashok Vihar won the match by just 1 point.
Philip, representing Montfort School, Ashok Vihar was quoted saying, “It was a tough match as you can see, and we won it by a margin of 1 point. I am really happy, I just can’t express my emotions right now, and I feel like crying. As this was my last match in this school, with my team. I want to say that without the help of my coach we could not have achieved this.”
The third match was between the Junior Girls of Step by Step, Noida and Montfort School, Ashok Vihar. This was an exciting match. The girls were close behind each other in the score. At the end Step by Step, Noida won the match by 9 points. Shrieks of joy echoed in the court.
Karmanya, Captain, Step by Step, Noida, was quoted as saying, “I feel very nice after winning this tournament. I am on cloud nine.”
Pramod Singh Taragi, Coach, was heard saying to his players, “What we are today is a result of our hard work. We have won this tournament and are the CHAMPIONS amongst the best schools of Delhi. What I really want to convey is that hard work is the key to success and we should never stop practising”.
The fourth and final match of the 22nd RBCL was between Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan and Modern School, Barakhamba Road was a battle of skills between the Senior Boys from both the schools. It was a match worth watching. Each team gave their best till the end. A tough match indeed. Modern School, Barakhamba Road won the match by 16 points.
Akaash, Captain, Modern School said, “I feel excellent after winning the match.”
This is a sport between two teams and it is not only about winning and losing. The real spirit is in participating and giving our best. All that we want to say is that don’t lose hopes if you lose a certain match, “there are many opportunities for you... ahead!!!”
The final matches of RBCL wrapped up on a pleasant note for some and a “not-so-happy” note for the others. Now, looking forward to the GALA CLOSING CEREMONY on 31st August 2016.
