Climate Change: A Global Issue

The change in the average conditions of Earth can be termed climate change. The continuous change in temperature and rainfall in a different part of the world is one of the signs of the fast pace of climate changes. The reports of glaciers vanishing are one of the major issues of concern. The major climate changes we are witnessing are warming temperature, changes in precipitation, changes in the blooming times of flowers and plants, rising sea levels, and a faster rate of ice melting. Humans are continuously bringing changes in the atmosphere around them which results in increasing the average temperature of Earth much more quickly than scientists have expected.
Some parts of the world are warming at a faster pace than others. If we look at the average rise of temperature in the past 100 years, the global temperature of the air near Earth’s surface has gone up about 2 degrees Fahrenheit. That is why this is a major concern for all. One of the results of continuous rising temperature is the increasing intensity and amount of rainfall during heavy storms. The heatwaves and droughts are also becoming more intense with time. The one or two degrees rise in global temperature can have a drastic impact on the Earth’s flora and fauna.

According to scientists around the world, human activities are the major reason behind the warmer days in the past 50 to 100 years. There are certain gases in the atmosphere around us which block the heat from escaping. This phenomenon comes under the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse gases keep the Earth warm and an increase in these gases leads to a warmer climate. The activities like burning fuels for transport and power are changing the balance of gases in the atmosphere. These types of changes lead to the trapping of more heat in the atmosphere. Thus, resulting in global warming.

The whole process can be simplified as human activities creating more greenhouse gases resulting in climate change. This is a global issue because we all live in the same world where a small change in oceans, air, flora, fauna, land, and sun’s energy all affects one another. Thus, this is a connected system. The Satellites around the Earth are continuously capturing the change in the atmosphere that how the land and water are continuously changing. By analyzing the information, one can understand how Earth’s climate is getting affected. Through this, we can understand how our small daily activities are resulting in bigger changes like Climate Change.
