Creativity Is a Process, Not an Event

Many of the events are conducted in schools and colleges related to creative writing and crafts, etc. And students winning those competitions feel as if they are very creative.

But what is the real meaning of creativity? It is a skill or phenomenon of forming something new, unique, and original. Will a student be able to form something new and unique by just participating in an event? Even teachers encourage students to use the internet to get ideas for making things or writing in the competition of creative writing, etc. Suppose a topic is given, and the student is asked to write on it. Where is creativity? He/she maximum write two-three lines which will be unique and can be considered his/her own ideas but the rest will be known by the world already.

Creativity is a long process, it needs time and patience. It cannot come just by looking at a topic and writing over it in one day or two. Well, that type of writings comes with past readings of other works and past experiences, there's nothing novel about it.

Though there are some events that are really well organized keeping in mind the parameters of creativity but then too it will not come till you practice it and wait for it patiently.

Everyday enhance your creativity slowly, ask and guide yourself to not mix your thoughts with the things you have seen or read under someone else's creative ideas. Think only what you feel is unique and never seen before. You can become creative, no one is born with it!
