Declining Tuition Fees: Dubai’s Changing Education Trend

The cost of living in Dubai is on the rise. Dubai right now the 20th most expensive city in the world to live in according to the 2017, Mercer’s cost of living survey. UAE also ranks the second most expensive place when it comes to education. A BBC report shows that a parent in UAE spends a whopping $99,000 for their children’s education from primary to undergraduate school.

However, on a positive note things are likely to change. The city has been working on more affordable housing and along with that there are plans of opening more schools in Dubai. If market trends are anything to go by it is most likely that the tuition fees will decline.

Despite steep competition in the education sector, educational fees in Dubai have been on the increase on a yearly basis past last seven years. However, a shift in the housing and education landscape draws a positive picture for the parents. With the new affordable homes coming up and with new schools opening their doors the tuition fees are likely to come relatively down in the next 18 months as the trend predicts. Parents can now choose schools closer to their new homes which will also reduce the travel time to a great extent. However, even with the reduction in tuition fees, the quality of education cannot be compromised as parents are more discerning than before. Which the noticeable change in development both in regards to homes and school, parents will now have a wider choice that are best for them rather than being stuck with options that were not flexible or pocket friendly.
