Delhi Police Nabs 2 Women Pickpockets Using the Latest Technology

With the growing technology, everybody needs to learn it as well as needs to apply it in their life. Delhi Police not only learned the latest technology of facial recognition but also used it in their profession to caught pickpockets. They caught the gang of pickpockets and arrested three persons on the 15th of March. Out of three, two were women, allegedly targeting women customers visiting banks by distracting them.
Facial recognition technique, Google Maps, and CCTV footage were the things used by the investigating team to arrest the accused women identified as Anjali, 23, and Nargis, 35.
They both trapped a woman who resides in West Delhi, an MBA aspirant. Garima withdrawal the money Rs. 5 Lakh from the bank and Anjali and Nargis started following them after she exited from the bank. The victim reached the photocopy shop, to get some photocopies done where an unknown woman initiated a conversation with her while the other woman secretly unzipped her bag and took out Rs 5 lakh.
After that, the victim filed a complaint against them. With the help of CCTV footage, the police matched the photo. They matched the CCTV footage with the criminal dossier system using the facial recognition technique.
GPS data of auto-rickshaws was accessed by the police which plies on the trans-Yamuna area. A driver rickshaw, Pramod Poddar, was arrested. Upon questioning, he confessed that he transported the gang in complexes, banks, and different malls and charged Rs 2,000 per day. On the outskirts of Gurugram or Delhi, he used to meet the members of the gang.
Delhi Police had teamed up with the Madhya Pradesh Police and are conducting raids to trap other gang members.
According to the news agency PTI, the accused women used to execute thefts at marriage halls, farmhouses, banks, and then used to hand over the valuables to other gang members who then ran away to Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh district, where they belong.
