Different Methods to Maintain Oral Hygiene

Having a hygienic body and a hygienic environment is very important for a healthy body and a healthy environment. We all have our own skincare or skin cleaning routine but what about our oral health? Maintaining our oral health is also very important. If we won’t follow proper oral hygiene then it will be very difficult for us in our future.

Most of us have noticed one time or more that whenever we eat something sweet and cool like ice cream or cold drink then a sensation occurs and our teeth pain.

This is because when we eat, the food particles stick on our teeth and harmful bacteria eat it and grow on our teeth. These bacteria act on the sugar present in the food and grow. They stick on our teeth forming an acid. This harmful acid then starts eating the top layer and middle layer of teeth, enamel and dentine respectively. When this cavity or hole increases it reaches the bottom layer or the pulp which contains the nerves and it causes pain.

To avoid this pain and other teeth problems, let’s know about some different methods to maintain oral hygiene.

Brushing: Brushing teeth at least twice a day is very important to have healthy teeth.

Rinsing: Rinsing mouth properly after every meal is essential to prevent the growth of bacteria.

Dental floss: It is a strong thread used to remove food particles which cannot be removed by brushing. After brushing or after each meal, dental floss should be used to remove food particles properly.

Brushing tongue: Brushing tongue during brushing teeth is very important. Most of the bacteria stick on our tongue causing bad odour. Thus, the tongue should also be brushed twice a day.
