Do’s And Don’ts Of Monsoon Season

We have already hit the month of July and many areas in the country are ready to enjoy rains for this year. Monsoons are a love to almost all of us and why it would not be that after all it’s a great delight especially after the scorching heat of summer. The cloudy sky, the lush greenery and the downpour are sure to grab anyone’s attention and are the pros of this season. But this is not just limited to this, with pros comes several cons, I am sure almost every one of us must have experienced a decline in our health after monsoon hits. There are several reasons for this, the first and foremost reason is climate change, also food and water contamination and breeding of mosquitoes in stagnant water of rain are the causes. Diseases like dengue, malaria, viral fever, common cold, typhoid, gastro intestinal issues and many more are very common as the season is a favourable time for microorganisms to grow and multiply.

Here’s a list of do’s and don’ts that needs to be taken care of during the monsoon season:

  • Water borne diseases are very common in this season thus during and in taking boiled water will help in preventing diseases.
  • Avoid getting wet in the rains. Rains especially the first rains of the season are very harmful and are full of chemicals. These rains can cause several skin related issues.
  • Using mosquito repellent on the body during daytime and also night will also be helpful.
  • Take care of your basic hygiene like taking bath daily and also after getting wet in the rain, wash your fruits and vegetables before cooking, wash your hands properly before and after eating, have warm water and tea to maintain your body’s temperature and all other basic health and hygiene tips.

A little effort that is done on your part coupled with care and caution can really help you. Thus just follow these dos and don’ts and enjoy the monsoon season to its fullest.
