Editorials News | Sep-13-2017
The Yin Yoga is conceptualized out of Taoist concept of yin and yang. It means opposite and complementary principles in nature. Yin is all about stable, unmoving, hidden aspect of things while yang is about changing, moving and revealing aspect. Our body has both yin and yang components.
The relatively stiff connective tissues like tendons, ligaments and fascia are yin while the more mobile and pliable muscles and blood are yang. A Yin Yoga class comprises of a series of long – held, passive floor poses that functions on lower part of the body. Lower part of the body consists of pelvis, the hips, inner thighs and lower spine. These body areas are highly rich in connective tissues. These yogic postures are held for up to five minutes and sometimes even more than that.
Yin Yoga is really helpful to those people who are tired, over stimulated or when they crave for energy and even for those who feel they have too much of it.
