Experiential Learning Is the Way to Progress for Indian Education
Editorials News | Jul-29-2018
Education has been involving drastically. One thing that has hugely changes is the way in how knowledge is delivered. We have now understood that hour-long lectures and detailed textbooks is no longer the perfect way to share information. We are in the midst of change. Students are now inspired to gain experience in real world. This will help in bridging the gap between theory and practical learning.
Merits of Experiential Learning:
There are many advantages to experiential learning such as helping the students with critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. This kind of learning will help students to learn in a safe environment while trying and experimenting on new things. They will be able to develop emotional connect with the subject by learning from real examples.
Lapse in Policy Making
Some educational institutions do promote experiential learning but there is still an application vacuum. Technology has helped in the creation of simulated experiences but they still can't replace the detail of the real life. By going out, they would be able to understand their actions and take responsibility for them. So, they would be able to learn on their own. This way of self-evaluation will bring more maturity than marks or any other certifications.
Kids should be exposed to this type of learning from an early age. Once they get an idea, they will get inspired and have a sense of direction. This education for the future generation is highly crucial for the issues that grapple Indian economy.
