Do you know the reason behind soft drinks being called soft? Soft drinks are named as “soft” because they don’t consist of any amount of alcohol in them.
The first ever flavored soda drinks had earlier appeared in continent of Europe in the midst of 17th century. They were also mostly popular in France.
Soft drinks are often been distinguished by their different packaging sizes, types of containers, manufacturers, taste, flavors, various ingredients and their serving temperature.
Process of carbonation is also very popular not only for drinks with specific recipes, but also it is there to “enrich” the flavor of ordinary water (popular “mineral” water).
The most famous types of soft drinks are mostly flavored water, carbonated water, fruit drinks, sweet iced tea, carbonated soft drinks, fruit punch, diet soft drinks, , seltzers and cordials.
Soft drinks can further also be called by many names. The most popular ones are here as follows: soda, coke, pop, fizzy drink, soda pop and carbonated beverage.
Over a large amount of 34 billion gallons of soft drinks is all the time being sold in over 200 countries each and every year.
In United States, there is reportedly over 1,500 patents that are related to soda drinks during the first few years of its popularity.
Sugary drinks are also one of the leading causes of increasing in the number of bacteria in our mouth. This can also cause significant tooth decay in humans.
