Franklin Session; Star Basket Ball Player

Franklin session is not a name that you immediately relate to unless you are follower of the Los Angeles Basket ball scene or a hoops junkie. Added to that this 6’2” guy doesn’t take himself too seriously either or it’s a case where he is blissfully oblivious to his great talent as a basket ball player.

Session wasn’t one sweating it out in the sneaker circuit. He didn’t spend hours practicing shooting all by himself but a born natural athlete he played basket ball at Jordan High School in Long Beach. However, he would spend more time zipping on his skateboard than with the basket ball. It was his coach Van Myers who encouraged him to stick to basket ball and let the game take him places.

Session began playing basket ball competitively when he was in the 10 grade. His natural talent was recognized however, he did realize that it takes more than just natural talent to survive in this game. There were times when he had to take a call and chose between hi s family and the game. He had to literally walk away from the court. Took up a job as a manager in a Cell Phone store, but his love for the game kept tugging at his heart.  Every day after work he would join the guys who played the game for a living until a good friend persuaded him to give the pro game a try.  And the rest just fell in place as it was destined.
