Editorials News | Aug-17-2020
Your happiness matters the most, more than you might realize. It’s important for your mental and physical health. But somewhere along the way, we’ve picked up this damaging belief that wanting to be happy is selfish and arrogant. Making ourselves happier is neither self-centered nor selfish. Indeed, being unhappy drags down everyone around us, especially those who love us, whereas being happy gives them a boost and makes the surrounding happier. Even We become more creative, energetic, and fun to be around and it can also lead us to become more financially successful. The cost of unhappiness is borne heavily by health services. Depression and anxiety are widespread all over the world and result in so much incapacity, illness, and inability to work.
The reason why happiness is so important is that it’s extremely vital to our own goals in life and can help us achieve personal ambitions and goals. Also, by being happy, an individual has the potential to change many other lives just by being ourselves and happy. So, it’s the ‘domino’ effect and it all begins with you as an individual. As you spread those feelings, they are taken by those around you who also spread them in turn.
It’s a natural state to feel happy, you don’t have to pretend that you are happy. It should be from within and that comes when you express or talk freely. Therefore, by ridding ourselves of negative thoughts, self-doubts, we get rid of feelings such as depression, fear, vertigo, dissatisfaction, boredom, and then, all that’s left is happiness and peace of mind.
Some people may think that how can we do this when we are surrounded by so many negative things? The answer to this is that we Let these things cause us to have negative reactions. In truth, no one has that power to make someone feel anything. It’s all in our mind, Outside behavior has the power to trigger off negative thoughts but that can only happen if you allow it. Try changing the way you respond to those triggers and consequently they cannot affect inflicting any kind of misery upon you. This might not be an easy thing to do but tell yourself that nobody can snatch my happiness and no one has the right to make me feel unhappy and then you are in the sole control of your feeling.
