History Behind Humayun’s Tomb

There are amazingly beautiful monuments that are present there in Delhi but do you know that they all possess a rich history with them. Humayun’s Tomb situated in Delhi, is one the first of the grand dynastic mausoleums that were to become synonyms of Mughal architecture along with the architectural style reaching its zenith after 80 years. Humayun’s Tomb stands and is spread within a complex of 27.04 ha which includes other contemporaries like 16th century Mughal garden-tombs for example Nila Gumbad, Bu Halima, Isa Khan, Barber’s Tomb, Afsarwala, and the complexes where all the craftsmen employed for that Building of Humayun’s Tomb stayed, the Arab Serai.
Humayun’s Tomb was manufactured and built in the 1560’s along with the patronage of Humayun’s son who was the great Emperor Akbar. Persian and also Indian craftsmen worked with each other to build the beautiful garden-tomb and far grander than any tomb built before in the Islamic world. Humayun’s garden-tomb is also an example of the amazing charbagh which is a four quadrant garden with four rivers of Quranic paradise represented in it along with pools joined by channels. The garden is itself entered from the lofty gateways towards the south and from the direction of west with pavilions all located in the centre of the eastern and northern walls.
