How Has Coronavirus Affected Sports

As COVID-19 is a strain of the coronavirus, it has created an area of terror in the whole world. From Italy to the US and then to India all world has been locked down to stop the coronavirus, various sports have been cancelled, whether its Tokyo Olympics or any other, all are cancelled to avoid large gatherings together.

Coronavirus has spread around the globe in these recent months, various tournaments, games and other sporting events have also been canceled, while others that are not cancelled have been modified. The Tokyo Olympics have been known to officially postponed till the year 2021.

The NBA season was also suspended, and the NCAA has also canceled all their remaining spring and winter championships, which included the men's and women's basketball tournaments. MLB has further canceled the remainder of spring training, and in this, Opening Day has been delayed for at least two weeks. The NHL has also suspended play and this is golf's first major tournament of the year, the Masters, has also been postponed along with all of these. The Boston Marathon has also said to delay its race until the month of September, the London Marathon event has also been postponed from month of April to October and the 2020 Invictus Games are also postponed. Plus, Scripps that is a famous spell bee tournament will also not be holding the National Spelling Bee which was scheduled on May 24.
