I Hide You Seek

There cannot be a single person who hasn't played the game of hide and Seek. Probably, it is the very first game for children. The very first Peek a Boo is a Hide and Seek game starter every child is familiar with.

Hide and Seek is a game that can be played by two or a group of children. The game is all about the players attempting to conceal their location while generally one person tries to find them out. It is a very basic game but over the years different variations have evolved.

Hide and seek is a game that is played all over the world and is known by different names. The game also varies from place to place. Sometimes, the seeker is helped by the people he/she manages to find or one seeker tries to locate all the others who are hiding.

The game is known by different names in different countries. In Spain the game is called el escondite, while the French call it Jeu de cache-cache, it is known as Machboim in Israel and Sumbaggoggil in South Korea. The Romanians call it De-av-ati ascunselea, the Bolivians call it Tuja, Escondias in Equador and Chile.

The Igbo children of Nigeria play a different version where they draw up a big circle and the seeker stands in the middle and asks the others to hide. Once the other players hide the seeker goes out of the circle and tries to find the others, once he finds them he then chases them, the other players must run into the circle before the seeker can touch them in order to be safe. The one whom he touches before he/she can get into the circle becomes the next seeker.
