India Now Goes To Tokyo 2020 Olympics for 3 X 3 Basketball With 3BL

Now more on indoor stadium. No lengthy roasters. No Long Dawn Games. From traditional 5 X 5 basketball, things have now moved to 3 x 3 basketball in what is a snappier, quicker, lung- bursting format. In the sporting world where intention is to create and maintain the attention in the game for very short period, on the other hand, when we talk about T20 format has taken more attention from the Test Matches Format whereas 3x 3 is played for only 10 minutes and in a race of 21 points. The format has been embraced by the International Olympic Committee and added to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics programme and later introduced in 2020 Commonwealth Games lists of sports. To ready the young players for tomorrow for the tournament, 3 x 3 Basketball League came to India in 2017 - played this year and had been six years in making.
Rohit Bakshi, former player and League commissioner of 3BL, according to him “I am happy to have seen the talent developed and grow over these past few months. India has a lot of potential for a medal at the Next Olympics and Commonwealth Games in 3X3 Basketball.
Motive behind the 3BL League was to give the opportunity to Indian players and give chance to improve their skills, learn the format and win medals. It is unlikely that India will win a medal in 5 player format against well-established countries 3x3 gives the opportunity to get ahead.
In the league they have 12 teams and played across six rounds in Delhi, Aizawal, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai has been thousand come out in attendance and the location has been strategically chosen to be the mall. Mr Bakshi said “we are not targeting basketball fans as they know about the sport. We want to talk to the new audience to explain the new format and bring more fans”.
Bakshi playing 3x3 back in Japan has helped him understanding the sport, requirement - from business perspective from a player perspective. He had the started the idea in 2011 but it comes into action in 2017. In 2016, however, when he was a player and owner of Japan team, he completed alongside Amyjot Singh Gill, Inderbir Singh Gill and Bikramjit Gill. They would go on to win the Japanese Championship and finished the runner up in world Tour Finals.
