Indian Team Needs Proper Training: Myanmar Coach
Editorials News | Feb-21-2019
When you begin talking to the coach of Myanmar women's team, Win Thu Moe, he initially comes across as a rude person but as you go deeper, you come to know how the attitude and confidence Moe has instilled in his wards made all the difference here at the inaugural Gold Cup.
Winning the very first international women's meet which is organized by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) was not much of a surprise for the top-ranked team but the way they won it speaks a lot about the balance of the team, their mentality, and physical fitness.
Ask Moe and he sums all this up in just one line stating that here only they played like men and all the other three teams played like women, like girls. That's the only difference. He added further that physically, mentally and tactically, we were far better than the other three teams and that represented in the way we played here. Only India has a great team balance. Indian team has a lot of potential, good players but they lack proper training.
With a population of 1.2 billion, India is still not able to perform well in sports. With this much of population, it is quite easy to find many good athletes. The reason is not this that Indian athletes lack talent. The primary reason behind this is that Indian sportspersons lack proper training.
There are other reasons as well which are given below:
Dominance of Cricket: India is a country where Cricket is regarded as a religion. Most of the people are so much interested only in cricket. The chief reason behind this is cricketers get a huge amount of money in India as compared to other sportsmen who are involved in other sports.
Lack of Infrastructure: India does not have proper infrastructure leading to a lack of training for its sportsmen. Only some major cities have good stadiums, it's very difficult to find stadiums in rural areas. As most of the population is living in rural area, it becomes very difficult for sports people whether women or men to practice. Many countries like the USA and China have various sports stadiums and other infrastructure for their sports people.
Low expenditure: As per some latest reports, India only spends too less on sports per day which is way less when compared to other countries.
Corruption: Corruption is one of the biggest problems in India. Many people pay a huge amount of money to the selectors for getting selected and other officials to get selected in National teams; some of the amazing talents get sacrificed because of this. As poor people are not able to pay money because of which they are ignored and their talent also.
