Indian Women Football Team Faced Nepal Team In The Women’s Gold Cup

Indian Women’s football team to a perfect start in the Hero Gold Cup going by knocking out Iran by 1-0 at their opening match of the tournament. For India, Anju Tamang made a goal in 48th-minute that led to winning but for team coach Maymol Rocky of the Indian team and her players, it was a usual thing which went correct as they were continued their winning spirit which took the tally of winning to five victories as out of the previous 4, 2 each against Hong Kong and Indonesia.
As per the coach the Indian team could have done better but they were unlucky at moments especially when Sanju hit the wood in the second half of the game and Anju missed a goal before scoring one. In the match the team performed really well defensively. It was also noticed that the 10 players playing ahead in this match and that made their striker Aditi away from the action. The team and coach were aiming for the same kind of defensive solidity in the future matches but it didn’t last much. The second match against Nepal was lost by 2-1 which was the fourth match of the 2019 Gold Cup played at the Kalinga Stadium in Orrisa, Bhubaneshwar. For Nepal there was a quick display of match spirit and talent by Sabitra Bhandari (5', 7') put Nepal made the first goal leading from the front while the second goal Ratanbala Devi's (73') brilliant kicks and a beautiful goal put waters on India hope to get the match win and at the end but the couldn’t make a comeback. The match got off to a very bad start for Indian team as Nepal team was not very renowned but made early blows of the team India, thereby taking the complete advantage of the poor defending and low goalkeeping. India were unlucky to create chances especially in the first half and but immensely failed to make them to goal and played opposite to their strength. Jabamani Tudu noticed that Anju is completely free in the middle of the box in the 38th minute of the game.
