Instruction Module Issued By CBSE To Prohibit Cheating During Exams

Education is one of the most important aspects in a person’s life. A well educated individual shines like a star. Education teaches an individual the way of life. It is very important to impart quality education to each and every child in India.

Time and again CBSE keeps bringing about reforms and changes in order to regulate the sector in a better manner. One of the major issues that the education sector faces is the issue of cheating. Students indulge in malpractices like cheating in the greed of scoring better. Lately, the CBSE has decided to look for some resolution to this problem and has taken some special steps in order to bring down the cases of cheating during exams. The CBSE has announced that they shall issue a module on the same soon. CBSE has decided to issue an ‘instruction module’ to deter the students who indulge in a malpractice like cheating. The module shall specify why cheating is unethical and immoral and shall detail about case studies and their effects. CBSE has been working on it for quite some time now and recently it has finally reached its final stage. CBSE has taken this step because the cases of cheating during exams are on the rise every year. In 2017, such instances just doubled. In the year 2016, there were 56 such instances and in the year 2017, there were 119. One of the official informed that the figure is similar in the year 2018 also. The official also threw light upon the leak proof exam pattern this time. It seems that CBSE has done all preparations beforehand this time. Well, such steps were well expected after the incident that happened in the year 2018 and questioned the integrity of CBSE. In the year 2018, question papers of maths and economics for Class 10 and 12 respectively were leaked to the students. Resultantly, the economics exam was conducted again. The official informed that they cannot give full details of the security mechanism as of now, but they have worked out a system that will help in identifying the malpractices. The official also informed that the early conduct of examinations has nothing to do with general elections. The exams are being conducted early as per the instructions of the Delhi High Court which stated that the school results should not in any case coincide with the admissions of the Delhi University. On the same lines, the results this year will be announced early in the month of May only.
