Jaggi Vasudev: Spiritual Master with a Difference

Jaggi Vasudev is an Indian Yogi, visionary and a humanitarian who has touched many lives worldwide. He is the founder of Isha Foundation, a non-profit organisation that is run entirely by volunteers. It is dedicated to teaching Yoga and promoting well-being of individuals since the past 3 decades.

His life and work has set examples on why Yoga is not a discipline from outdated past but rather contemporary science that is relevant to our life even now. He was born in 1957 in Mysore, Karnataka to an ophthalmologist with the Indian Railways so his family had to move often. He was exposed to Yoga at the age of 12 and couldn't part his ways with it after that. He had his first spiritual experience at Chamundi Hills when he was 25. Six weeks following this, he left his job gain insight for his mystical experience. This made him realise his calling to become a Yoga teacher. In 1992, he founded Isha foundation which offers Yoga program and social and development activities. Their program nurtures overall health and quality of life. The foundation is established not only in India but also in countries such as US, Canada, Lebanon, Malaysia, Singapore, Nepal, China, England, Uganda and Australia. Apart from his life lessons, he is also internationally renowned for his speaking engagements on various spheres of life such as business, human rights and environmental issues.
