Know About Dodgeball

The origins of dodgeball have been fairly sketchy but it has always been a popular game till a considerable period of time. The game is also a regular part of physical education classes in several schools and the popularity of the sport has reached new levels, thanks to the video motion picture ‘Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story’ that featured Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, and Christine Taylor.
The objective of the Game
The main objective of this game is to eliminate all members of the opposing team by throwing little ball at them. A player must dodge this ball for remaining in the game and then the team who manages us for eliminating their opponent’s entire first are then deemed through the winners.
Players & Equipment
There is no such fixed amount of players that are essential to be present for a dodgeball game, with games that are varying between small numbers to large players. A lot will also depend on the space available for playing the game and the overall pool of player available. School leagues or regulated games will have a set number of players, which again will differ from each league.
There is also no fixed dimension and area for a dodgeball game and with the game going ahead on the most appropriate surface and its venue. Similarly, there is also no universal agreement on the balls that are further utilized in a dodgeball game. Players operating this in a league format would be expected to all play with the same sized ball or type but this can be agreed by each individual league.
Many also consider it to be of benefit for playing with an odd number of dodgeballs so there is always scope for one team to be on the offensive.
The game starts with the opening rush. All the dodgeballs are further lined up in the centre of the court, with both the opponent teams rushing from their baseline to the balls. Players also have to simultaneously grab and throw a dodgeball or roll it back to a team-mate.
