Manchester City And Manchester United Confirmed As Richest Clubs In The Premier League

The latest revenue figures for Premier League clubs have been published recently. Manchester United and Manchester are the two clubs that are at the top of this list. Even though Manchester United finished in sixth place last season, it is the richest club in the Premier League championship. According to the latest Deloitte Annual Review of Football Finance, Manchester United’s revenue in 2017/18 was £590m which is higher than any of their Premier League rivals. The total revenues of £503m makes Manchester united the second richest club of Premier league. Liverpool club who has finished at second spot in the premier league is the third wealthiest club (£455m). This list followed by Chelsea with £448m revenue, Arsenal with (£389m) and Tottenham with (£379\m).
There is a large financial gulf exists between the rest of the league and six richest clubs in the premier league. According to the reports, the total combined revenue of the top six clubs is £2.76 billion in 2017/18. For all the other 14 teams combined, that is compared to £2.05 billion. Spurs is the only club in the premier league which spent less than half of their revenue on wages i.e. 39% of revenue or total £148m. Manchester United’s half of United’s revenues are spent on wages (£296m). Liverpool’s revenues are spent on wages is compared to 52% of City’s (£260m55% of Chelsea’s (£246m) and 62% of Arsenal’s (£240m).
In Europe, the Premier League is the richest division in the continent by quite some distance. Top 5 clubs had record combined revenues of £4.80 billion in 2017/18 according to the report. That compares to 1.96 billion in Series, £2.71 billion in La Liga, and £1.49 billion in League 1. Premier league championship is the 6th riches league in Europe. Total combined revenues of all clubs are £749m for the last season.
