Marian Vajda Reveals What Novak Djokovic Has Been Working On

The coach of 13 grand Grand Slam titles winner, Marian Vajda has revealed some of the changes that Novak Djokovic has put in place since they have started working together again. Djokovic announced a surprise split from Vajda and former trainer Gebhard Phil-Gritsch last year but reunited during clay-court season. He won his first Grand Slam Title after 2016 and gives his team credits for his achievement. Vajda revealed that he got a call from him after opening-round exit at Miami. This was his second tournament since his elbow surgery.

Djokovic was full of doubt when he called Vajda. Vajda said that one of his priorities was he didn't want those around him to be intrusive in his career. He wanted Novak to play Tennis as a practice and not as a philosophy. He insisted that the path to the top is a mixture of practice, repetition and a good mentality. They have worked hard through this philosophy.

Another priority of Vajda was to build back Novak Djokovic's physical condition. After his surgeries, he has been struggling a little with the physical strength. He naturally has an athletic build but his muscles need strengthening, according to Vajda. Gebhard Phil-Gritsch worked a lot on the player's fitness and his muscles mass came back.

Their first month together was intense and they have reunited on a trial basis. Even though both of them announced that they will continue to work together.
