New-Borns Also Have Hair fall!

Ever thought that hair loss which is really common now days, is caused due to pollution occurs in new borns too. There’s a myth that hair loss was limited to older adults but think again as the studies suggest that infants who are up to the age of 2 can undergo and experience hair loss.
It might further come off as a shocking thing but to your knowledge this is common at all.
In the first six months after birth certain factors and genes play their role and make the baby more likely to lose hair.
Now the question arises that why does this happen?
Babies begin to grow some hair on their heads while they rest in their mother’s womb, most of the new borns experience an adequate drop in their levels of hormone, this makes them to lose some of their hair after post-delivery till six months. This kind of hair loss situation is regarded as 'telogen effluvium'.
Another reason due to which this happens and which results in this scary hair loss is cradle cap, it is due to the rubbing caused between the sebum and the scales in the scalp, this takes away the fine hair too.
If the baby sits or sleeps in the similar position for a longer period, he or she can result into developing bald spots in and also around the crown; this yet can be another reason for hair loss.
You might be shocked that some older children and toddlers have a habit of twirling or pulling their hair compulsively, this also results in hair loss and this type of hair loss is known as trichotillomania.
All these processes are completely natural and occur in almost all the babies around the world. However being a parent one must take some precautions and should be able to notice small activities of their child. Moistening their scalp and skin with pure coconut oil can help a lot. Also in adult’s hair loss is extremely common but if taken proper diet and habits it can be resolved.
