Editorials News | Jan-22-2018
A man named Arunachalam Muruganantham took the initiative to solve the problem of women, as he saw her wife using old rags for sanitary pads. So, he tried to make prototype but he failed in that.
Then he started using different materials for it and to test all those pads his wife used to help him. He had to wait for a month for it so he consulted some girls from the nearby medical college. So some girls out of them agreed. But they didn’t tell him the results as they were shy to discuss. So to know the proper results he used to wear them for the right feedback. It took him 2 years to find the perfect pad and 4 years to find a way to make it. His prototype came in only $950. This provide job for women in rural India. He is the most well-known social entrepreneurs. Now Akshay Kumar is making a movie on him. Twinkle Khanna was the one who came up with this idea and moreover she is writing a story ‘The Sanitary Man from a Sacred Land’ in her new book The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad on this Padma Shri winner.
