Partition Of Rome

Ancient Rome was a prominent and powerful Empire that ruled most parts of Europe for around 1000 years. The Roman Empire was named after its capital 'Rome' in Italy. The culture of Ancient Rome was spread during this period. The influence of the Roman empire is still seen and observed in a large part of the Western World. The various cultures, architectures, religions, engineering, arts, etc. were spread by Rome in the Western half of the World. Rome had a parliamentary form where 'Senator' was selected temporarily and there was no rule of aristocratic Emperors. This government worked based on a written constitution and laws and the power was divided between organs of government.

'Julius Caesar' annexed the kingdom and became the king removing all democratic arrangements. Later, his throne was inherited by "Augustus" who became the first emperor of the Roman Empire. Due to its long existence, Roman Empire was developed and extended a lot which was spread throughout the whole of South Europe and even North Africa. And hence, it was difficult to manage the Empire from the single Kingdom of Rome. This inability to manage the Empire was the reason behind the decision of ministers to divide the Roman Empire. One was called the "Western Roman Empire" which was administered through the capital of Italy that is Rome while on the other hand, the other segment was called the " Eastern Roman Empire" and it was managed by the capital of Turkey which is Constantinople. The Eastern Empire gradually decreased its ties with Rome and then it flourished for the next 10 years whereas, the Western Empire didn't survive and collapsed after continuous attacks from Barbaric tribes.

Therefore, the decline of these Empires is considered the end of the Roman era and this means that the "Partition of Rome" resulted in its destruction and decline.
