Polycystic Ovarian Disease

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or Disease is a common reproductive endocrine disorder that has affected 5% of women till date. In PCOD excessive amount of androgens that are male hormones like testosterone are produced by the ovaries. It is a major cause behind infertility, menstrual irregularity and excessive hair growth.

PCOD is a medical problem that causes the level of sex hormones that are estrogen and progesterone of females go uncontrollable and induces growth of small ovarian cysts. The most common causes of PCOD are Hormonal Imbalance, Prior History of PCOD in family, Genetic reasons, and Elevated level of Androgen Hormone. Such causes leads to a few symptoms of PCOD.  The symptoms of PCOD are Excessive hair on body and face, weight gain, irregular or abnormal periods, pelvic pain, despondency and anxiety, problem pertaining to fertility and pregnancy. A few treatments of PCOD can be Healthy diet and Exercise,  Anti-Androgen Drugs, Fertility Drugs, Surgery. These are common treatments for a person suffering from PCOD whereas in regards to these symptoms one is advised to visit a Gynecologist and go through a treatment.
