Save Daughter, Educate Daughter
Editorials News | Jan-30-2020
Education is the birth right for every Child and nobody can take this from us. Education is the basic right for every child that should be practiced fully in every nation around the globe. But in India, getting primary education is not based upon the birth right whereas it is based on the sex, caste and the culture you belong to. Education help children to grab opportunities but if they are not going to the school, how we can expect them to grow and be self-dependent.
In rural India girls are kept inside the home for doing household work as it is considered to be better payoff than going to school. According to U.S. Census Bureau, it states three out of five girls attend school on the regular basis whereas four out five boys go to school every day. In Indian constitution Act 21, it clearly states that every child who is six year old to fourteen years get the equal opportunity to attend the school without any discrimination on the basis of caste and sex.
Education gives children the opportunity to grow and sustain human value. Going to school doesn’t focus on just the education but it helps children to build their confidence and how to represent themselves. Education plays an important role in development and makes us self-dependent. It also provides the knowledge and information about how we should manage our health.
Many NGO’s and non- profit organization are working on this issue that has been spread over hundreds of years in our society. Even the prime Minister of our country Shri Narendra Modi introduced scheme to eliminate such issues from our society like ‘Save Daughter, Educate Daughter’. We should also put our efforts to eliminate such elements from our society and give a fair chance to each and every child to get proper education without discriminating on the basis of their gender or caste.
