Snapchat Launches Group Video Chat and Story Mentions

In this tech savy world, being a part of the social media platforms has become a necessity for all. Snapchat is one platform that famous among youngsters and adults both. It is a multimedia messaging app created by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown, former students at Stanford University, and developed by Snap Inc., originally Snapchat Inc. One of the important concepts of Snapchat is that pictures and messages are only available for a short time before they become inaccessible. Lately, Snapchat has announced that it shall be launching various new features in the present week.

These features shall include: 1) Ability to make group video calls; 2) Mentions feature which makes it possible for users to tag friends in snaps uploaded onto stories. For tagging someone in a story, one just needs to type @, spell out the username of the person and then tap on the name that one wishes to tag. Those who see the tagged snap, can easily swipe up and add the tagged person to his or her friends. According to Snapchat, this feature shall be of a great help to the celebrities indulged in the promotion of a brand. These celebrities can tag the brand they are promoting in their stories. On the other hand the video call features allows up to 16 friends to make a video call with each other at the same time and up to 32 friends to make a conference voice call. To add more spice to the video call, the users can even make use of various filters available on Snapchat.
