Solve Puzzles for The Holistic Development of Children

Puzzles have been part of human civilization. They were found in the Indus valley and Mohenjo-Daro, the first known human civilization. They also were present in China, in ancient Greece, Cyprus and in several other parts of the world. Over the centuries the puzzles became more popular and lots of changes took place. Puzzles are not just a recreational toy but there is lot of mental development that is associated with it. Especially when it comes to children puzzles have many benefits for children as they grow up.

Puzzles have very positive benefits when it comes to overall growth of a child in terms of developing fine motor skills, hand and eye coordination as well as concentration. Along with developing fine motor skills that the children require when they hold a piece and turn them till they fit properly it also develops their cognitive skills, the children while playing learn how to solve a puzzle and at the same time it also teaches them to be patient and the reward is a completed puzzle. When more than one children work on a piece of puzzle they also develop social skills while they negotiate with each other in solving the puzzle.

There are so many aspects of development that are associated with puzzles. It trains children to be aware of world around them. They start recognizing different shapes and sizes. Once they have solved a puzzle it also enhances their memory and they are able to solve the puzzle easily the next time over. Children start using critical thinking to solve the puzzle. It also helps children in setting goals, trains them to be patient but at the same time unwind and enjoy it like a game. It is wonderful way to inculcate so many wonderful qualities in children from very early age.
