Teachers Advice Crucial for Edtech Companies

In the recent times, imparting education using technology has grown up as a profitable business. The Edtech companies usually require feedback about their product, as a result they start by selling to teachers as their first customers.

They do so because teachers can offer the best feedback to companies as they are the ones who see the direct effects of the program. It is indeed a good practice to begin collecting data and endorsements from a loyal group of teachers. For many of the newer companies, this also makes them financially safe and smart. May be the final sales volume will be substantially lower than a district-wide purchase, but then the companies would have less invested in the sales part. This helps them to cover their costs by being more efficient with best feedback. Undoubtedly, selling to a school is much more impressive feat than selling to teachers. But one must be doing a lot more research in order to pursue the school management who has the ability to make purchase decisions. Before you head into a meeting with the school official, you should already know with the help of teacher’s advice that what the school needs and how your product offers a solution. If you intend to sell it to an entire school, one will need a product that ceases to be more ascendible. Teaching cyber ethics intends to be a great start, but also a professional obligation. The combination of digital media and education requires a number of inter-disciplinary skills, blending user experience and analytics with pedagogy and even game theory. Success in new educational ventures calls for a collaborative approach and a deep understanding of the complex interconnections between technology platforms, influencers, educators, publishers, administrators and learners. In 2008, the International Society for Technology in Education added a section to its standards calling for educators to promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility.
