The Discovery Of America

America is said to have been discovered by Christopher Columbus was a sailor from Spain and discovered America during his Voyage; Columbus had three ships Nina, Pinta, and the Santa Maria. Columbus took three ships from the port of Palos in Spain on August 3, 1492. His goal was to reach Asia, India which at that time was a gold mine. The first stop of Columbus was the Canary Islands and the lack of air here hindered the journey. The journey was getting longer and his patience with the crew began to pay off. To remove the fears and doubts of his team, he prepared two sticks. Although the process of mapping the Americas gained momentum after Columbus' voyage and made headlines in Europe, the Norse Peoples (often called Vikings) established their settlements in America long before Columbus. According to Icelandic legends, Norse people led by Eric the Red settled in southern Greenland in 908, having been evacuated in the year 1300. Columbus accepted the American Islands as India and named it India. Columbus was wrong; he lived his whole life with the same mistake that he discovered in India. Till his death, he could not get to know that in reality, he was considering the American islands as India.

These expeditions of the Viking people did not know much about the general psyche in Europe, about 500 years after that when the race to discover India or East Asia (Indies) started in Europe. Then, in the year 1492, with the support of Queen Isabella of Castile, present-day Spain, he discovered the islands of the Bahamas, Cuba, and Hispania. Subsequently, Columbus discovered Trinidad and Tobago and several other islands in the Caribbean. News of these discoveries of Columbus immediately spread throughout Europe, and after that many European lords sent their sailors on expeditions to the new world. Then there were attempts to establish permanent settlements to natural resources. As a result, many European countries began to explore and colonize the interior of America. The Isabella salt settlement on the island of Hispania became the first permanent settlement of the UOP people in America, which was established by Columbus in his second tour in 1493. Jamestown, located in present-day Virginia, United States became the first English permanent settlement. However, historians refuse to accept this truth. They believe that America was discovered by Indians, they claim that America was discovered three or four thousand years ago. America was buried under the ice and animals lived in the snow, according to Kenneth C Davis it was the Indians who discovered America.
