Soon Delhi Government is going to launch the entrepreneurship curriculum that will have no exams, books or evaluation. The government will initiate the entrepreneurship curriculum as a pilot project in 15-20 schools in April. The government will see a full-fledged launch in all government schools in July. SCERT: State Council of Educational Research and Training in its governing council meeting which is chaired by Manish Sisodia, the Education Minister of Delhi, approved entrepreneurship curriculum’s framework and its ready for an official release on 13th February. This framework has been made by a 16-member committee which comprises SCERT teachers, NCERT teachers working on entrepreneurship, teachers of prominent private schools, and many other experts of the related field.
Chaired by the chief minister, the chief guest of the occasion will be Dharampal Ji of MDH Masala fame. The occasion will also be attended by many other entrepreneurs from different fields. The entrepreneurship curriculum will be on the basis of activity and there would be no evaluation, examination, and books for the same. The curriculum will be based on syllabus and learning sessions. It will be taught from 9th to 12th standard students to make them capable of facing the challenges of life after education in a better way.
Education is increasingly becoming more diverse and vast, with a greater emphasis on the whole experience, not just the actual academics. The education of entrepreneurship is becoming more prominent, with a large number of students seeking out extra-curricular activities. They also remain interested in taking additional classes for learning more about how to succeed in business. Collaboration and multi-disciplinary working are becoming more the norm leading to increasing in the exposure of an average student to entrepreneurial activities and innovative thinking.
Initiating entrepreneurship at school level allows a student to gain the necessary life skills and enough confidence to become successful in the "real" world. Students gain hands-on experience with entrepreneurial tutors and lecturers. Student entrepreneur curriculums allow students to meet like-minded people, in an atmosphere of creativity, innovation, and broad-mindedness. It allows students to learn more than just their selected field of study and creates an interdisciplinary and out of the box environment to work and develop in. The networks, connections, and friendships which develop during these curriculums help students to become better-connected once they leave school. It also helps to prepare them for long term success.
